“At Atonement school in Milwaukee, there were over 100 students in 8 classrooms from K5 through 8th grade, served by 13 teachers and 3 leaders/coaches. This was an opportunity for the students to raise the bar on their education, but it also gave the teachers, who are college students, an opportunity to learn and grow their urban teaching skills in a real-world classroom. I was privileged to serve these teachers, students and their families by providing daily opening devotions for the entire school, offering encouragement to the teachers, and calling parents to offer prayer support and make sure their children were benefiting from the summer school. It was also a great encouragement for me to see the teachers and students growing in faith and teamwork while having fun.”
