“I was given the wonderful opportunity to serve at two sites: St. Marcus Primary and Pilgrim Lutheran. These opportunities will stay with me forever. God has blessed both of my sites as the teachers there came with a fire to teach and the students took what they said to heart. However, it was not all sunshine and rainbows; some students acted out or some things didn’t go as planned, but God gave us the strength to see things through. Also, it was in these moments that I got to connect with the students the most; I got to hear where they were coming from and find out just what was bothering them. I got to help them calm down, and I was able to use that time to redirect their focus on what was most important: Jesus and his ever flowing forgiveness. I cannot understate just how important this experience was, not just for me, but for all of those who participated in this CfUT summer school program. Yet, all of this would not have been possible without our wonderful and amazing God, and I could never thank him enough for it. In short, this was an amazing experience that has shaped and fashioned me, and has brought me closer to becoming the man God wants me to be.”
