A Strong Finish
Chaplains in Schools (CiS) expanded beyond our human expectations last school year. We started the year with Pastor Steinberg serving HOPE: Fidelis and Shining Star-Capitol Campus. By second semester, CiS was invited to serve HOPE: Prima (25th and North). Chaplain Ballew was added to the staff to serve the 500 students there.
With three campuses and 1,000 students, their families, and the staffs of each school, CiS was been able to share the gospel in many ways. Pastor Steinberg baptized 112 students, siblings, and parents from the three schools. Pastor Steinberg and Chaplain Ballew delivered 131 chapel services that included praise, prayer, and spiritual instruction delivered at an age-appropriate level. Pastor Steinberg and Chaplain Ballew connected to families with almost 400 spiritual phone calls and 206 spiritual discussions with prayer. The school staffs enjoyed 127 devotions with Bible study so they could grow spiritually themselves, and therefore, teach the Bible stories to their students more effectively. There were 30 school events where the chaplains were able to connect with the students, their families, and the school staffs.
God’s blessings were so evident in the work He has allowed Chaplains in Schools to do.
